Katy Perry – The End of a Teenage Dream pop rock music videos

Teenage Dream is the third studio album by American recording artist Katy Perry. It was released on August 24, 2010, in both standard and deluxe edition through Capitol Records. On top of co-writing every song on the album, Perry worked with a multitude of producers and writers, including Dr. Luke, Max Martin, Benny Blanco, Tricky Stewart, Stargate, Ryan Tedder, Greg Kurstin, Ester Dean, and The-Dream.
Musically, the album is rooted in pop, rock, and dance music, similar to 1980’s Swedish bands such as ABBA, Ace of Base and The Cardigans. Teenage Dream is also influenced by several sub-genres of rock music such as disco-rock, electro rock, New Wave, and pop rock. It is also influenced by other genres such as house music, electronic, hip hop, electro-pop, funk-pop, and eurodisco.

The album has spawned six worldwide smash hits songs: “California Gurls” featuring American rapper Snoop Dogg, Teenage Dream, “Firework”, “E.T.”, which included a version featuring Kanye West, “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” and “The One That Got Away”, where all reached the top five on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the second album in history to have five #1’s hits from one album (after Michael Jackson’s Bad)—to do so, and the first female in history to achieve this milestone, and the third album in history to produce six or more top five hits.

Critics gave Teenage Dream mixed reviews, commending it for dance anthems, while denouncing the lyrical content. In the United States, the album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling 192,000 copies in its first week. It was later certified two times platinum by the RIAA, selling more than 2 million copies in the United States. The album has sold more than 5.5 million copies worldwide. The album and its singles have received multiple awards and nominations at the 53rd and 54th Grammy Awards.

Also, Teenage Dream won International Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2011.
In January 2012, it was announced that Teenage Dream would be re-released, under the title Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection. It was released on March 26, 2012, and helped the album jump to the seventh spot on the Billboard 200. Two singles from the re-release have been released so far. The lead (seventh overall) single, “Part of Me”, was a worldwide success, reaching number one in the United States. In the United States, the song became the twentieth song in the Billboard Hot 100’s history to debut at number one and the sixth #1 from the Teenage Dream era. In May 2012 it was announced that a second (eighth overall) and final single, “Wide Awake”, was a worldwide success, reaching number four in the United States, would be released as the final single from the Teenage Dream era, serving as a tie-in to Perry’s upcoming 3D concert/documentary film, Katy Perry: Part of Me.
